Hello, all! I am so excited to be a part of the Higgins ISD teaching staff.  The majority of my education was in Shattuck, but I attended Higgins ISD for 3rd and 5th-7th grades. I graduated from Shattuck High School in 2011.  After high school, I attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University for one year and and then moved home to attend Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Woodward.  Eventually, I had to drive to the Alva campus to finish up my degree.  I graduated NWOSU December 2016 with a Bachelors of Arts Education.

Degrees and Certifications:

Certified in Secondary English Education

Current Position:

I started at Higgins ISD in January 2017 teaching high school English.  I currently teach English 1-4, High School Reading, and Communications Applications.

Previous Position:

I completed my student teaching at Arnett High School, which was an awesome learning experience!

There are many reasons why I chose to teach.  However, the main reason is because I know what it is like to struggle with learning.  In elementary and junior high, I was behind in many aspects of learning.  Until I met my high school English teacher.  I want to help students like my English teacher helped me!

I cannot wait to share my love for literature with the students at Higgins ISD!  I am thrilled to be teaching here and I’m looking forward to many years of learning, fun, and adventures!

Family Information:

I am married to my high school sweetheart, Brandon.  We tied the knot on August 8, 2015.  We are pregnant with our first child and due January 28, 2018!  We are having a boy and his name is Raylan Patric.  We also have three dogs: Bandit, Maverick, and Gus.

Personal Information:

A few of my favorite things are: My growing baby bump! My Two Nieces, Leopard Print, OU Football, Makeup, Hunting & Fishing, Reading, the Color Blue, Shania Twain & Classic Country Music, Animals of Any Kind, Netflix
